On Good Friday there are meditations ....
... led by members of the congregation ....
on the theme of the 'the cross'
At 3.00pm there is the Liturgy of the Lord's Passion
With veneration of the cross
Venerating the cross by kissing can be a very moving symbol
Meanwhile the young people were learning about Holy Week
At the end of the liturgy the young people placed their prayers and the symbols they had learnt about in front of the altar

The eight churches of 'Churches Together in Wembley' took part in the Walk of Witness
The walk takes place at 10.45am on Good Friday
People carry crosses on the walk
and banners from their churches
People gather on the green at the beginning of the walk
Carrying the Cross up Preston Road
The walk is usually in silence
But leaflets are given out to passer by explaining what we are doing
Afterwards there is a short service on the green ...
... with hymns and readings

The church was candlelit on Maundy Thursday Evening
Various designs for the altar of repose were considered !
But this simple altar was used in the end
The choir sang beautifully
Feet were washed on obedience to Jesus new commandment
Although this isn't technically a good picture I like it because it captures the mystery and drama of the Eucharist, it's me censing the gifts at the offertory

The Church was full for our celebration of Palm Sunday
This year we had a donkey (very kindly lent by Tom)
The children practised shouting Hosanna for the Palm Gospel
Hannah organised the young people
Who waited patiently in costume for the procession to begin
Jean very kindly looked after the donkey
We gathered outside
The donkey seemed to enjoy the proceedings
Palm Crosses were blessed
The children moved centre stage for the Palm Gospel
and shouted Hosanna during the reading
They were dressed appropriately
The donkey wore the chasuble, symbolic of Jesus
and the procession set off
The children followed the donkey
the congregation sang 'All Glory Laud and Honour'
We processed along the street
The donkey resisted coming into church
Mass continued in church
We read the dramatic version of the Passion Narrative
Sharing the peace
The Offertory
Censing the gifts and altar
The Eucharistic Prayer
Something I never see, myself on the screen
The children made cards in Sunday School
The donkey got taken home
